Caught in Brian's Webb

If you took Ben Folds and smacked him upside the head with a guitar and demanded that he make more folk sounding music, odds are you would get something that sounds like Brian Webb. Originally hailing from the rap dominated city of Atlanta, Webb headed northeast to Boston where he released his first album, Broken Folk, in 2002. His live sets are, supposedly, quite the show with dashes of humor leaking over in between songs and even into many improvised lyrics. Webb will have a crowd doubled over in laughter one moment, and then segue seemlessly into a song like Walk Alone: "I don't want to make this sound like a warning / I don't want to talk about forever / Let's just start walking in the morning and see if we wind up together.." And it's songs like that that keep you coming back.

Webb also has already released a collection of live songs that do a swell job of capturing the folk artist in his true form. He has plans to record and release another CD sometime in 2006, details still being worked out. Check out his site and MySpace for some more information and music.

Also, my Uncle just sent me this little test/game thing that supposedly the Airforce tests their pilots with, expecting them to last at least 2 minutes. I personally don't believe that, but if you get more than 18 seconds you're a champ! Try it out here. Good Luck!?
