New!!! Sufjan Stevens: "Adlai Stevenson"

[MP3] Sufjan Stevens - Adlai Stevenson
I am thoroughly convinced that Sufjan can and will forever do no wrong in creating the music he does. Every song seems so incredibly thought out and orchestrated, even if it's as short and sweet as this one. He's particularly gifted at humanizing and characterizing through his lyrics, telling incredible stories that really do facilitate some sort of connection to his listeners. At just under two minutes, this song is nothing short of perfect. Seriously.

"Adlai Stevenson" is off of a new KRS compilation, The Sound The Hare Heard. Pre-order it here.

Isn't this song also going to be in that new Avalanche album that's coming up?

They might have left this one off the album because although it sounds good, he misprounced "Adlai." It is pronounced Ad-a-lie. (I went to an Adlai E. Stevenson HS in the Chicago suburbs! :) )

yep, this is track three on 'the avalanche'. and along with the title track it makes me even more certain that that album is going to be something special.

thanks for this!

I've heard both, and the versions of this song on The Sound The Hare Heard and The Avalanche are different. The Avalanche one is more embellished and upbeat.
