The new Ratatat album, Classics, is fantastic. I was a little worried at first, but after listening to the first track that iTunes randomly chose for me (you know when you add an album, how it plays each track randomly...yeah), "Tacobel Canon" (har har), my worries were put aside. I freaking loved their debut, but this is much, much better. They've taken their structured, consistently sounding approach and expanded it with new intruments, styles, sound effects, blips and beats.
Chris thinks "Tropicana" is the best song, but I say it's this one:

I'm gonna have to agree with Chris. Tropicana makes me hump air.
Actually, when something makes its way onto the Internet, it ceases to be "ultra-rare" (or even just plain rare), as it has then become widely distributed, and therefore, is no longer "rare". Think about it.
agreed. my favorites are lex and kennedy, but the whole album is greatness.
umm...2nd anon... thanks for over (or under) analyzing my use of "ultra-rare," but it was used because I would imagine not that many people had heard it before.
I get that maybe in a month or so, now that it's available on the internet, it will no longer be rare. But at this moment, with only a few downloads out of all the Ratatat fans in the world, it is rare. Think about it.

i'm diggin' tacobel canon, and i have to disagree with chris and the first anonymous, it's way better than tropicana. that one's amazing too, but just not AS amazing. god i can't wait for this album to come out
i want to ammend my comment that "tropicana" is the best song...after listening to "wildcat" about 200 times this weekend, and seeing the reaction it got in my DJ set, i'm going with that.

speaking of rare, the itunes version of classics recently added an eleventh track "truman." i've not seen that one anywhere else and it's only available if you buy the whole album. wtf, i ask, wtf?

they played truman live on their album release tour. the track is freaking amazing. ive been trying to find it online for a while now
I found this page by google searching for Tropicana because I wanted to see if anybody loves it as much as I do.
