UFO Sighting: The Flaming Lips

After just finishing up my Lollapalooza post and having seen The Flaming Lips, I had to write something about this.

During the Lollapalooza show I was hoping Wayne would say something about the (very delayed) progress of his feature film Christmas On Mars (trailer). Instead he just stayed on the same alien-oriented news path, talking about their upcoming revamped shows. Revamping?! What else could you add to their already jaw dropping shows? Oh nothing - just a UFO!

I'm a little foggy on the exact details but from what I've heard, Wayne is debuting a giant UFO at their hometown show taking place in a Zoo ampitheatre. Supposedly the UFO is supposed hover/appear over the stage/audience equipped with laser lights, fog, and Wayne descending in his giant bubble. If you're half as excited as I am about this, you'll try to make it to their show too.

They Lips are placing a video crew in the parking lot and in the crowd during the show. Anyone smell a live DVD?

Check out the rest of The Lips tour dates.

Well, if you are curious, and didn't make it too the show...the UFO was as awesome as it was described. Also, Wayne did announce that this show would be included in the live DVD (the cameras were everywhere), so make sure you get one when it comes out.

Minor correction: Nonzine isn't Wayne's magazine. It is run by some friends of mine, and the features Wayne's art in one issue. Just
wanted to point that out.
