I'm not a consistent Dead Air Space reader, but I'm sure glad Connor was on the proverbial Radiohead ball last night. Since reading about the release of their new album, I've had time to grasp how cool of a concept this really is. I've read a few interviews with Thom around the time that he released The Eraser, Yorke complaining about the process of cutting an album and sending it off to the assorted media outlets who (always) effectively "leak" the album. This time around it looks like they're going to effectively stick it to the media.
I also haven't heard a peep about Radiohead signing to a label for In Rainbows, meaning this digital download business could effectively circumvent their need for such large scale hardcopies. Another neat thing about this news; you have one of the biggest, most important bands in music giving their music to the real critics first - their fans. No early reviews or critical buzz to accentuate or taint their music pre-pushing play. The hype Radiohead will generate off of their latest, brilliant endeavor will be anything less than frenetic.
You can toss me into that hype machine. This week will be fun.

I've never heard the Mayer cover...it's great.
Exciting times over here. It's only Monday and already we're getting some covers!
Any chance you have the stereogum covers? I totally missed out on downloading those before they took them down.
One of the bests bands ever... I'm so excited !
That Darkness cover makes my ears cry. Speaking of Radiohead covers, has anyone heard the Phantom Planet cover of Paranoid Android, and is it worth hunting dowm?
"Paranoid Android"'s a pretty solid cover, IMO.
