Let's face it, we'll probably never see another pre-pubescent musical genius like that of Mozart.. but who says kids can't have fun? Tiny Masters Of Today are aptly named; two tiny kids with an average age of twelve and weighing in at a combined total of 120 pounds. Many would be quick to write them off as some kind of carnivalesque novelty act, but don't be fooled, these kids are cranking out some solid tunes.
Hailing from Brooklyn has it's perks of music relationships, but playing the NYC city scene before you can operate a vehicle can be intimidating. Thanks to some solid praise from Newsweek and finger-on-the-pulse David Bowie, Tiny Masters quickly put together their first LP titled Bang Bang Boom Cake. They've opened up for Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Man Man, and Patrick Wolf; subsequently impressing each audience they take by storm.
[MP3] Tiny Masters Of Today - Hologram World (feat. Karen O & Nick Zinner)
This track is a wild romp that jumps around everywhere, but it's carefully refined by Karen O and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The kids and their superiors teamed up via email to create a solid rock track that circulates themes of money, magic, and national security. Their LP is packed with the type of short, sporadic punk rock that you'd expect a kid their age to be into. Unsurprisingly, most of their material started as home recordings between the brother and sister duo since they lacked the entertainment means of a TV and Playstation. After spreading around MySpace like a plague, getting signed, and opening for notable acts - Tiny Masters Of Today are on a beaten pathway towards not being so tiny anymore.
