2008!

3..2..1... Happy New Year!

I suppose I'm a little late on wishing that to everybody but I only woke up recovered from last night recently and it felt like a natural thing to exclaim. With 2007 officially coming to a close, it's now musically kosher to unveil our remaining "Best of 2007" lists which Connor and I have spent a good amount of time compiling. The chaotic holiday schedules and the week or so of inconsistent lifestyles that accompanied them are giving way back to "normality" - school and work return to the forefront. Another holiday hangover mix might be the works to shake this "end of the year limbo", but until the ball gets rollin' you can commemorate the ball droppin' one last time with a few enjoyable tunes and a nice Twain quote.

[MP3] Jeremy Enigk - A New Beginning
[MP3] Death Cab For Cutie - The New Year
[MP3] The Robot Ate Me - Celebration Time

"Now is the accepted time to make your annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them. Yesterday, everybody smoked his last cigar, took his last drink and swore his last oath. Today, we are a pious and exemplary community. Thirty days from now, we shall have cast our reformation to the winds and go on cutting our ancient shortcomings shorter than ever. We shall also reflect pleasantly upon how we did the same old thing last year about this time. However, go in, community. New Year’s is a harmless annual institution, of no particular use to anybody save as a scapegoat for promiscuous drunks, and friendly calls, and humbug resolutions, and we wish you to enjoy it with a looseness suited to the greatness of the occasion."

-Mark Twain

who's on the couch and did she puke on her elbow? that's what inquiring minds want to know. and btw, absolutely great MT quote. they don't make 'em like him anymore.
