Dark Side Of The Taco

Unfortunately, this awesome band's CD isn't called Dark Side Of The Taco. It's called Appetizer Disc, by an indie/indie-pop band from Oakland, CA, called I Come To Shanghai-- a four-track drop in a huge pond [known as indie pop] that I can see them one day launching out of. "Pass The Time" and "Your Lazy Eye," the EP's opening tracks, recall a They Might Be Giants sense of humor which underscores their natural ability as musicians, which comes across very Beatley or Pink Floydy or maybe even Queeny at times. The twang gets little bit repetitive and, for lack of a better word, annoying--something that will hopefully be weeded out of their music as time rolls on--but for now.... just listen »
