[MP3] The Ghost Orchid: "Black Birds"

1 copy of The Ghost Orchid's self-titled debut: 10 dollars.

1 download of the Mac alarm clock software Awaken: 13 dollars.

1 bottle of Arizona Pomegranate Green Tea to wake me up: 1 dollar.

Realizing that spring is finally here when birds chirping in the song "Black Birds" are really coming from outside my window: Priceless.

There aren't too many things I love more than the first few days of Spring. It's as if everyone realizes the warmth and unfolds out of their cold and concealed icy structures to remember exactly why we put up with Winter in the first place: because Spring is awesome, g'damnit, and the beautiful, ethereal music coming from ambient/post-rock outfit The Ghost Orchid only highlights its most spectacular and inviting moments.

great find. do you have any other recommendations for good wake up music? one thing i have on my playlist is "introduction" by voxtrot, i love music that slowly crescendoes (but not too high).

I want spring, too! It was 78 degrees last Saturday, and Saturday only. Actually, it's going to snow tomorrow. Did I mention I live in Seattle, where it rarely snows?

I use a free app called Araura which does pretty much what awaken does.
