How To (Quickly) Become A Rockstar

The Blue Man Group conducted a tour a few years back called "How To Be A Megastar" but the trio clad in blue paint and black turtlenecks forgot to mention the power of YouTube in their performance. If you're looking to be a rockstar but don't want to go the whole route of playing in bars, starting small then signing big, and just want to fast forward to the "tour successfully forever" phase of your career then this might be a viable option. There are two relatively recent occurrences of such a fame-catapulting phenomena, both of which found vocalists that are near carbon copies of their original predecessors.

Intensely popular and classic bands like Boston and Journey found their new singers working at a Home Depot in South Carolina and singing in the Philippines respectively. Both were found via YouTube videos and MySpace tunes making for quite the nifty, if not interesting story to share with the grandkids. Although they may always be slighted for not being the original, must be cool to go from singing in your bedroom or at a karaoke bar to touring and leading a classic rock outfit.

APNC strikes again. Are you sure it's not somebody you're putting up to do this? He obviously likes no music, no opinions, no articles, nothing of entertainment value, and is sexually frustrated (weaving into every insult some perverted comment). Other than that, (if he is a real person)he sounds like a pathetic shill for Pitchfork. Personally, I like the idea of an "everyman" being discovered and singing lead for a rock band. The odds of this happening once are long, but to two bands in the same summer? Astronomical.
