[MP3] Royal Bangs: "Broke Calculator" / "Cat Swallow"

I was catching up with Greg the other day about various things - Oh No! Oh My!'s new EP, touring, wiccan girlfriends, travel-sized shampoo, and new music. I've got some great news about their EP to share (new song!) but that'll have to wait a few more days, until then I've got another new song from a different band. When Greg told me to check out the band they were touring with I (at first) couldn't understand him - then hilarity ensued:

Greg: Dude, you should check out this band called the Royal B/Gangs!
Me: Who? The Royal Bangs or Royal Gangs?
Greg: B/Gangs!
Me: Uhh.. Gang or Bang? Is it a "B" or a "G"?!
Greg: Dude! You know, like gang bang!
Me: ....

After the consternation subsided and I realized he had said "bangs", albeit not in a clear form of cellular communication, I was immediately turned to the raw rock of the Royal Bangs. The band is based out of Knoxville and have come to represent a sound that could only be described as 21st century garage rock - capitalizing on the enthusiasm, energy, and rough sound of garage rock then introducing digital elements like electronic drum kits, sampling, and personal computers. It's a creative blend for a band that derives their influence from: "SNICK. What the hell else were you supposed to do on Saturday night?" They make a damn good point, so if you ever found yourself sitting on the big orange couch before you now have the Royal Bangs debut We Breed Champions (re-released via Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney's label Audio Eagle) to make you jump up-and-down on the seat cushions much to your mother's dismay.

Hair styles with bangs are not simply cutting your front hair so short to have them. Variations are available depending on the shape of your face and what personality you would like to project. Check out http://www.hairstylewithbangs.net for more.
