Easily one of the greatest sports moments I've ever witnessed. I don't know about everyone else, but (for me) it was a giant leap off the sofa and invigorating victory yell that followed USA's out-touching of the "supposed to crush us" Frenchies! What a comeback, what a world record, what a fine day to live in the USA!

God, I love the olympics...
Great moment. Talked about it on my blog too. Phelps, you, and the room I was in went crazy as the anchor touched the wall. It's sad because there's twenty more days of the Olympics and probably nothing will come close to this moment.
Thanks for the video, I didn't see it (it was on Tv at like 6 AM, that's the problem of living in france when the olympics are in china). Anyway that was both awesome and painful (although I already knew we lost). We totally diserved to win. Anyway it's not over, Bernard will have revenge ^^.
definitely an "Amurica, fuck yeah!" moment. I also like how the athletes don't look for the nearest camera to stick their faces into and scream nonsense
I'm Canadian, and I thought it was totally awesome!! I'm supposed to root against ya'll cocky Americans ;) BUt Phelps is too great. That last leg by that dude was amazing.
Oh, and I like that you put up a New Porno's song for a great American moment though .....
No matter how old I grow to be, I will probably never see another Olympics event as exciting as the IM won by the Americans. Without a doubt one of the best moments in US Olympic history perhaps only second to the Hockey team's victory over the Russians in Lake Placid. Great post. Gotta love the Olympics, no matter where you're from!
Carly, it wasnt the IM relay it was the freestyle...but dont worry we'll win the IM relay with ease.

Michael Phelps is amazing and when he gets his 8th gold of the games, the Internet is going to break from all of the people watching and re-watching the moment online! So exciting!
And to someone above, there's no such thing as an IM relay, as IM stands for individual medley. What you're referring to is called the medley relay.
yes but "the "supposed to crush us" Frenchies" were not so bad as witness the 100 m. Where were the americans in that race? Each country won its race. Nevertheless, it was a huge race and a huge come back, a race france couldn't lose... but that's sport !
