I think this will be the only time you'll find two pictures of hand art on IGIF's front page at the same time. Though I think it fits Black Moth Super Rainbow's aesthetic better than Isaac Brock's. Anyway, the band responsible for one of the best song titles ever is back with a new album called Eating Us, a title that makes the following song a bit more poignant:
Update: Track removed at label's request, link goes to Hype Machine stream.
[MP3] Black Moth Super Rainbow - Tooth Decay
"Tooth Decay" starts off giving us a BMSR that we don't usually see, which might be explained by the introduction of Dave Fridmann as producer (MGMT, Flaming Lips, Weezer, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, etc). It's got a sorta of perverse 'follow the bouncing ball' type club beat fused with gnarly synth screams and a walking bass line. It feels like we're going somewhere-- maybe to those gooey, candy-colored dream worlds that Black Moth Super Rainbow constantly paints for us. There's something about this track that I can't really figure out... it sorta reminds me of NIN's "Only" without the attitude. And that might be BMSR's fatal flaw (although it's become endearing over the years) -- there's hardly any attitude. The songs float on, harmlessly yet pleasantly. And if you don't mind music that doesn't assault your senses and make you feel like a lesser being, this might be the band for you.
Eating Us is out May 26th on Graveface Records.

Stuff like this is why I think the next addition to this site should be a "what's out this week" box. You post great stuff, but I forget about it by the time it is available.
