It's Friday, which means there's officially one less work week in between now and the May 26th release date of Grizzly Bear's Veckatimest. I thought I'd celebrate by throwing up a few underappreciated YouTube videos including a weird 'Chuck' clip show and a few live cuts from their BAM and SXSW shows.
"Two Weeks" set to NBC's Chuck:
This is actually more interesting than it sounds, especially by the end of the video. It's also the first and only glimpse I'll ever get of NBC's Chuck. Does anyone watch that show?
"Fine For Now" Live at Cedar Street Courtyard @ SXSW:
I was one of about 7 people lucky enough to avoid being pushed back off the sidewalk by police (there was a bench and my ass was parked for about 4 hours). We had a great view over the heads of the crowd... and considering some badge holders couldn't even get in I'd say we lucked out on this one.
"Ready, Able" Live at the Central Presbyterian Church @ SXSW:
"Ready, Able" is probably my favorite song from Veckatimest but I don't think the dense sonic layers translated into as much of a mindfuck during this performance as they do on the album. Still, it was a nice surprise when they did it at Cedar St. and this video from the CPC show captures it pretty well.
"Dory" Live with the Brooklyn Philharmonic @ the BAM:
This is really incredible, and if I were there to experience it I might say that it bests the album version, only because of the gorgeous string accompaniment. "Timeless" describes this song better than any other in recent memory.
And for goodness sake if you haven't for some reason heard "Blackcurrant Jam" (which is apparently the nicest jam you can have) please listen up:

Chuck is a great, nerdy comedy/drama/action series, one of the best TV shows around these days. Witty writing, good acting, loveable characters. You should definitely check it out. :)
is there any way you can repost the alt. live version of lullaby again? I think you did a long time ago but the link is dead.
I agree with everything anonymous said.
Chuck is excellent.
God Veckatimest is good. I don't even have the high quality rip and I can't get enough of it. Chillingly beautiful. Even my sour and dour girlfriend has warmed to it....
yea chuck is great, new ep tonight haha
The Cedar St SXSW show was fantastic. I got there early enough for Beach House etc and was totally worth the wait for Grizzly Bear. The Two Weeks they performed was great, but videos are sparse/poor quality.
The scene in the street looked pretty hilarious from inside, especially when the Police showed up.
I skipped Dino Jr.
chuck is awesome. i really recommend checking it out.
Great tune, but that was the strangest video I've seen in awhile. So what's the plot on Chuck? Another amnesia affected lead character plops down in suburbia? Lost me.
Second the Chuck recommendations. It's one of the best things on television.
hehe that's my Fine For Now video! neat.
I was stuck in bed for 6 weeks once after a surgery, I watched every episode of a lot of series, chuck is a pretty good one. The video goes well to the GB song.
