I was going to share some great songs various acts covered during Bonnaroo today but with the breaking news of Michael Jackon's death I feel rather compelled to throw up some Jackson covers. Despite the personal/legal problems that plagued him during the last decade, he was one of the greatest performers to ever take stage. How many times did you try moonwalking in front of the mirror? Such a sad day for the music business, his young children, and the Jackson family - RIP Jacko.

The current J.Viewz single is off The Besides EP and is a surprising jazz cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal”. The single was included on the playlists for U105 (Ireland) and KISS FM (UK) and was an A-List song on Jazz FM (UK). It also earned a coveted spot on the recent cover compilation by the Tru Thoughts label (Tru Thoughts Covers). Impose Magazine calls the J.Viewz cover “the show stopper of the bunch,” and says “this cathartic version is as original and memorable as the performer who left us far too soon.”
